   Shoreless Sea

What angel guards behind her back
to help her in her need?
Lucifer of spirit black
from whom she's never freed.

She walked a land of blinded hope,
though deep inside she knew,
love written there was beyond scope
of all her knight would do.

But in that land she'd lived in care
that she had never known
and Knight of love and Lady fair
within her heart were grown.

Yet all the world of love she made,
was only her pretend
to try and fill the need that bade,
he be more than her friend.

She lived in paired realities,
and two alone would love her,
the Knight who shared her fantasy,
and tenderly her mother.

But one by one she lost the two,
fulfillment of fate cast,
four months ago Knight tall and true,
four weeks ago the last.

Now two worlds are reality
she cannot pull apart,
no shelter in her fantasy,
no living in her art.

And though he cares he cannot be
the man to fill her soul,
and all the love she used to see,
will never make her whole.

The heart of her so filled with care,
the dreams she used to write,
the hope she had for bonded pair,
have vanished in day's night.

And coffin only fills her dreams,
an empty box of black,
and endless crying mindless screams,
won't bring her mother back.

Today is like the day before,
tomorrow she can see,
there's nothing for her anymore,
no place that she should be.

What can she offer anyone,
what dreaming lies ahead?
Her past a future left undone,
tomorrow's walking dead.

She's filled with need that will not end,
from which she's never free,
a blackness that she cannot mend,
she's empty shoreless sea.

So now she's lost the need to live,
yet has no will to die,
nothing's all she has to give,
and nothing is the lie.

And every night she prays for rest,
and hopes she will not wake,
and every day that is her quest,
one final step she'll take.©
